Yesteryear - Canton Pony League team

Fifty year ago during the summer of 1976, the Canton Pony League team, coached by Scott Cole and Mark Whiston, ended the season with 12 wins and six losses. 
The team placed third in the Mississippi Valley Tournament. The Ewing team came out in first place.  Pictured are, front row, left to right; Curt McCutchan, Marty Alberty, Jeff Shuman. Back row: Dale Howe, Terry Wolf, Dan Collins, Steve Uhlmeyer, Tommy Lay and Brad Davis. Team members not pictured are Dan Wheeler, Bruce Schlager, Brian Schlager, Doug Strahl, Richie  Hill, Bobby Downs, John Smith, Roger McDermott, Chris Lillard, Mike Taylor, Mike Rutherford, and James Daughtry. Dan Wheeler was voted most valuable player for the 1976 season with Marty Alberty a close runner-up.
