The Canton Greenhouse class, under the direction of Lezlie Durst, will have plants for sale. From now until the end of May, garden plants, hanging baskets, and vegetables will be for sale, and the public is invited to stop and shop.
Planting began in late January, early February, when lessons go from being book-heavy to daily hands-on learning in the greenhouse. Seedlings get started, then are separated into individual cells and flats. Flower plugs are planted. Hanging baskets are created with students' artistic effect. The Greenhouse Class has been working hard this semester, caring for and growing many different varieties. The money raised for the plant sale is used to help with future learning opportunities for students.
Students planted cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers in weekly intervals to keep plants the proper size for transplant after the last frost.
Walk-ins are welcome April 30-May 2 from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Appointments are available upon request. Please reach out to Mrs. Durst at  ldurst@canton.k12.mo.us .
