DAVID KEITH GARKIE

David Keith Garkie, 52, of Quincy, Ill., died October 27, 2022. at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., after a 5 ½ year battle with cancer.

He was born February 12, 1970 in Quincy, Ill., a son of Rolla Albert and Doris Jean Chipman Garkie.

David attended Quincy Senior High School and Vatterott College where he received a certificate in computers. He was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church in Quincy.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Garkie of Quincy; two brothers, Douglas Garkie of Maywood, Mo., and Randall Garkie of Sedalia, Mo.; two uncles, Hobart Chipman of Durham, Mo., and Terry (Barbara) Chipman of Palmyra, Mo., and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held October 31, 2022 at Durham United Methodist Church in Durham with Rev. Marty Pressey and Rusty Schultz officiating Visitation was held October 30, 2022 at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing.

Pallbearers: Glenn Chipman, Kyler Garkie, Dustin Tanner, Phil Reichert, Mike Engle and Charles Deverger. Music: One Day at a Time and Go Rest High on that Mountain.

Burial was in Durham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to defray cost of service made payable to the Ball-Davis Funeral Home.
