JAMES TURPIN

James (Jim) Wesley Turpin, 61, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of LaBelle, died May 3, 2015, in Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown after a battle with COPD.

He was born November 4, 1953, in Quincy, IL, the son of Harold D. and Aurolyn B. Eskew Turpin.

Jim attended grade school in LaBelle and graduated from Highland High School. In his earlier years he was engaged in farming in the LaBelle area. He also attended Auctioneer School and was employed as an Auctioneer in Northeast Missouri for several years. For the past 20 years he has lived in the Kansas City area where he was employed as an Engineer for Kodak. He had a passion for Antiques and quilts and was presently restoring all of his grandmothers quilts. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs Minnie and Pearl and his family and friends.

Surviving are three sisters Laura Hall and her late husband Danny of LaBelle, MO, Roma March and husband Mark of Knox City, MO, and Barb Squire and husband John of Des Moines, IA, one brother Roger Turpin and wife Joyce of LaBelle, MO, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Jim was preceded in death by his father and two brothers Ronald and Bob Turpin.

Graveside services were held May 6, 2015, in the LaBelle Cemetery under the direction of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Officiating the services were Pastor Ted Middleton and Pastor Debbie Schmidt. Casket bearers were Shane Hamlin, Ronnie Hamlin, Clint Turpin, Cody Turpin, Cole Turpin, Jason Martin and Brian Smith.
