FRANCIS EDWARD “ED” ANDERSON

Francis Edward “Ed” Anderson, 88, formerly of Wyaconda, Mo., passed away peacefully on November 9, 2017 at the Clark Co. Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Ed was born July 1, 1929 to James Edward and Sylvia Mae LaFrenz Anderson at their home in rural Wyaconda. He resided his entire life in Clark County except for serving in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was married to Doris Rector on June 5, 1954. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1995.

Ed was a devout steward of the land, farmer, and provider for his family. Throughout his lifetime he worked tireless hours raising quality crops, cattle, and hogs efficiently and economically.

Ed was a graduate of Wyaconda High School and a member of the New Woodville Baptist Church. For several years Ed served on the Board of Directors for Peoples Bank of Wyaconda and the Clark County Rural Water District.  In 2016, he proudly received the Conservation Stewardship Award from the Clark County Soil and Water Conservation District.  He was a member of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, respectfully.

He is survived by daughter Jill (Lane) Cox of Keokuk, IA; brother Calvin (Micki) Anderson, Conroe, TX; sister-in-law, Evelyn Weber, Clinton, MO; grandchildren: Dale (Tianna) Fincher, Wyaconda, MO, Chris (Kenzie) Cox, Coralville, IA, Gwendolyn Cox, Wayland, IA, Ashley Cox, Seoul, Korea, and a dear, special friend, Elva Spicknall, LaBelle, MO; great grand-children: Konner Westerkamp, Kennedy Fincher, and Olive Knight; nephews: Jamie (Angela) Anderson, Conroe, TX, Bob (Jackie) Ebeling, Wyaconda, MO; nieces: Elizabeth (Cliff) Baker, Hallettsville, TX, Brenda (Larry) Warrick, Livonia, MO, Kristy (Dave) Haskin, Clinton, MO, Kim Meridian, Kelly Dugas, and Stephanie Anderson, Conroe, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a nephew, Rick Hines; brother-in-law, Wade Weber; and grandson, Grant Edward Guarin.

Funeral services were held November 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Shawn McAfee officiating. Special music was “How Great Thou Art” with Allison Anderson and Tianna Fincher and congregational hymn, “The Old Rugged Cross”.

Honorary Pallbearers were Bill North, Jacob Colter, Rex Pitford, Libby Edlen, Kelly Nelson, Joni Harvey, Alice St. Clair, Joy Wright and Larry Young.

Pallbearers were Dale Fincher, Jamie Anderson, Cliff Baker, Dave Haskin, David Martin and Randy Nolt.

Burial was in the Wyaconda Cemetery with full military rites.

The family requests memorials be made to the Wyaconda Cemetery or the Clark County Nursing Home for a blanket warmer.
