EDWARD COURTNEY

Edward A. Courtney, 62 of Canton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 8:37 p.m. at his home in rural Canton.
The son of Earle and Jeanette (Riebling) Courtney was born on November 29, 1963 at Quincy, Illinois.
Ed raised cattle on his family’s homestead farm and worked at Titan Wheel in Quincy for 26 years. 
He was a member of MO Farm Bureau and liked to be outdoors, hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. 
He loved his nieces, nephews and grandkids and could fix machinery without a manual.
He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Courtney of Quincy, Il.; a sister, Cheryl (Edward) Meyer of Canton, Mo.; 
two brothers, Wesley (Marsha) Courtney and John Courtney (Mary Kay Costigan) both of Quincy, Il.; ten nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews; an aunt, Lela Stelter of Lincoln, Il.; his significant other, Carla Hull of Canton, Mo.; step-daughter, Kathy Hull of Liberty, Il.; and two grandkids, Thomas and Jacob Wagner.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Winston Courtney.
Memorial services will be held Monday, July 20, 2026 at 6:00 PM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri with Rev. Tom Rains officiating. 
Honorary Pallbearers: Wesley Russell Courtney, Amy McGlaughlin, Jake Russell Courtney, Mika Courtney, Eric Meyer, Arron Meyer, Anthony Meyer, Rocky Courtney, Robbie Courtney and Candice Courtney.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 20, 2026 from 4 PM until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church of Quincy, Illinois.
