Fun at the Fair

The 2026 Lewis County Fair has a full schedule of activities each day. Evening events include Tues. July 7 Royalty contests. Wed. July 8: Garden Tractor Pull, Thurs. July 9 IFPA Tractor Pull, Friday, July 11: Demolition Derby, Saturday, July 12: Night of Destruction.

Livestock shows include cat and dog shows, Tues. rabbit and dairy show, the Poultry show will be Wed. July 8. The Goat and Sheep show will be held July 9. Swine show is scheduled for July 10 and Saturday, July 11 features the bucket calf and beef show. The annual livestock auction will be held July 11 beginning at 5 p.m.

The Beer Garden features DJ music, Thursday, July 9. On July 10: Jake McVey will perform from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and on July 11, Them Smokin Crawdaddy’s will be from 9p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Other events featured will be the Quilt show and food auction, July 7; Pedal Tractor Pull on July 8; The baby contests will be held July 9. July 10 features kid’s craft, DYI barn quilt and the power wheels derby. The last day of the fair will have DIY floral arrangements, kid’s games, wing contest, and cornhole tournament.  A full list of events with times is listed in the ad in this edition. 

Home Economics Show
Home Economics open show: For many years, the Home Economics Open Show is always a great display of local talents. Categories include, Floraculture, home canning, baked goods, horticulture, field crops, household arts, crafts, fine arts and quilts. 

Farmers Market 
The Farmer Market at the Fairgrounds will be held Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Market items may include fresh produce, homemade baked goods, handmade crafts, local honey, apparel and other items. The market includes vendors from Canton and Ewing Farmers Markets and will be located on the fairgrounds by the 4-H building.

Family Fun Night:
Family Fun Night will be held July 8 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with activities that include cake walk, face painting, Pedal Tractor Pull at 6 p.m., Ag Ed and on the Move Pork Lesson and Activities from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. An armband purchase includes a chance to win, a pool, trampoline or inflatable water slide.

Senior Day
Senior Day at the Lewis County Fair will be July 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. Activities include bingo, line dancing and other activities. Reduced admission for seniors 65 and older. 

Kid Games
Kids Games, a very popular event each year will be held Saturday, July 11 beginning at 12:30 p.m. Games include frog jumping, turtle races, egg toss, watermelon eating, money scramble and hula hoop contest. 

Baby Contest
The annual baby contest will be held July 9 at the all purpose pavilion with registration at 4:30 p.m. divisions include 0 to 6 months, 7-11 months, 12-13 months, and 24 to 35 months. Grand prize is trophy and cash prize. For more information contact Misty at 573-406-4365.

Royalty contest
The Fair Royalty contest will be held Tuesday, July 7 in the Pavilion. Categories are Queen for ages 17 to 22; Junior Miss for ages 13 to 16; Princess for ages 8 to 12 and the Little Mr. and Miss contest for ages 4 to 7. 

Chicken Wing Contest
Lewis County Fair Chicken Wing Contest will be held July 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. Wings are provided. Cash payout for first, second and third place. All you can eat wings for adults and kids for a charge and to cast a vote for your favorite.

Carnival Rides
Jones and Co. Carnival will provide carnival rides and games. Daily arm bands available. Rides available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. each night. Saturday, July 12, rides will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.
