Highland Track Advances to Sectionals

The Highland boys track team advanced to sectionals in several events. Chris Gaus for the 100m dash, Porter Peters in the 400m dash; Logan Frienden, Chris Gaus, Xavier Santiago, Porter Peters for the 4x200 race and in the 4x400 the team of Tyler Seals, Briscoe Post, Cooper Hinton, Porter Peters qualified. LaMale Miller qualified in the shot put event. Briscoe Post and Cooper Hinton both advanced in Javelin. Chris Gaus will compete at sectionals in the long jump event. The Sectional meet will be at South Callaway on May 16.
For girls track, advancing to sectionals will be the District Champion Bailie Crist in Javelin. She outdid her school record with a throw of 37.75m. Chevie Sharpe is District Champion for the 1600m run and also District Champion for the 800m run. She broke her school record with a time of 2:22.43. Eva Logsdon advanced with a third place in pole vaul.t Ali Lundberg won third place high jump. Hannah Ritterbusch advanced to sectional with a fourth place long jump, and the team of Hannah Ritterbusch, Alayna Logsdon, Eva Logsdon, and Chevie Sharpe took third place 4x400m relay to advance in the state sectionals.
