VERDA WEAR

Mrs. Verda O. Wear, 90 of Lewistown, Missouri died May 13, 2016 in the Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown.

The daughter of Elwin and Hazel Golbricht Walker was born on October 27, 1925 in Knox County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Harold F. Wear on November 10, 1945 at Hannibal, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2008.

Verda was a member of the Park United Methodist Church in Lewistown and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She played piano for the Asbury Methodist Church until it closed. She liked tending to her flowers and garden, traveling and she loved to spend time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Janet Wear-Fairchild and husband Charles of Kansas City, Kansas, Steven F. Wear and wife Dana of Augusta, Kansas and Deborah Herring and husband Dan of Wayland, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Chris Dietrich, Ciara Dietrich, Ryan Wear, Teri Jo Wear, Whitney J. Bryant, Jenelle Korte, Jansen Nivens and Quentin Fairchild; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Walker of Palmyra, Missouri and James Walker of Salem, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Dean Wear, and two sisters, Vivian Spear and Wanda Sharpe.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Paul Milliken officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown. Pallbearers: Lyndell Chaplin, Doug Neisen, Bobby Patchin, Sam Strub, Larry McConnell and Henry Geisendorfer. Honorary pallbearers: Charles Sharpe and Leroy Jones.

Burial will be in the Lewistown Cemetery.
