Ellen May Crandall, 82 of Ewing, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 5:20 a.m. at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
The daughter of Russell and Velma Alice Irvin Branson was born on March 26, 1943 at Keokuk, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Carlie Glen “Buddy” Crandall on April 1,1969 at Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 27,1993.
Ellen was a member of the Lewistown Christian Church and served on the Lewistown Cemetery Association Board. She liked to square dance, play cards and dominos. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered at Ewing Senior Housing with the meal program.
She is survived by her children, Carl Hill, Jr. of Hunnewell, Mo., Howard Hill of Wayland, Mo., Tommy Hill of Ft. Madison, Ia., Andy (Michelle) Crandall of Palmyra, Mo. and Curtis Crandall of Hurdland, Mo.; grandchildren, Carl Hill III of Monroe City, Mo., Mary (Ethan) Jones of Newark, Mo., Gregory (Jessica) Slyrandall of Keokuk, Ia. and Karli Crandall of Palmyra, Mo.; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Susan Davis, Shirley McCoy, Nancy Brummer and Carol Picton; a brother, Ernie Branson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Butch Branson and JohnathanBranson and her mother and father-in-law.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 10 AM until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown. 
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Elmer Hagood officiating. 
Pallbearers: Carl Lee Hill III, Randy Wells, Wayne Branson, Gregory Slycrandall, Russell Jinkens, Josh Crandall, Ethan Jones and Roger Crandall.
Burial will be in the Lewistown Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ewing Senior Center or Lewistown Cemetery Association.
