Canton Water Supply Agreement

The City of Canton has voted to enter into an agreement with Clark County Water to supply Canton with water. The water supply has been an issue because permanent plastic particles were found in the current water supply. Public meetings had been held to present the options to the public and to listen to the citizen’s concerns. The town basically had two options, a contract with Clark County Water or for the City of Canton to build a new water plant. Clark County Water will have to build a new water plant by 2029.
Clark County and the City of Canton will pursue grants. A bond issue will be voted on during the April election. The bond will not raise taxes and the money will available for any issues with the water or sewer systems.
