Troop B Promotion

Captain Erik A. Gottman, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the following promotion effective December 15, 2025.
Corporal Cary F. Porter will be promoted to the rank of sergeant, and designated the supervisor of Troop B, Zone 8, serving the citizens of Marion and Ralls counties. 
Porter was appointed to the Patrol on January 7, 2007, and after graduating from the Patrol Academy was assigned to Troop B, Zone 11, Monroe and Randolph counties. On October 1, 2009, he transferred to Zone 5, Adair and Schuyler counties. Porter was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant supervisor of Troop B, Zone 2, serving the citizens of Macon and Shelby counties, on August 1, 2016. He is a native of Warsaw, IL, and graduated from Warsaw Senior High School.
