The annual Highland Basketball tournament begins January 5. This is the fifty-fourth year for the tournament. This tourney will have two pool play sections. On the girls side, Pool A has the Highland Lady Cougars, Palmyra and QND JV. Pool B teams are Keokuk, Kirksville and Clark County. The boys team Pool A will have Kirksville, Clark County and Highland and Pool B teams are Keokuk, Palmyra and QND JV. 
On Monday, January 5, in girls action Keokuk will face Clark County at 4:30 p.m. and the Highland Lady Cougars will play Palmyra at 7:30 p.m. 
The Kirkville boys will face Highland Cougars on Monday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. and the 9 p.m. game will have Keokuk against QND JV boys.
Tuesday, Jan. 6   will have girl’s games at 4:30 with Palmyra facing QND JV and Kirksville against Clark County at 7:30 p.m. One January 7, the girl’s team of Keokuk against Kirksville at 4:30 p.m. and Highland against QND JV at 7:30 p.m.
Also on Jan. 6 on the boys action, Clark County will face Highland at 6 p.m. and Keokuk will face Palmyra at 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7 Kirksville boys will play Clark County at 6 p.m. and Palmyra boys will play QND JV team at 9 p.m. 
A weather day is scheduled for January 8, and the games on Friday, Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan. 10, will be determined based on preliminary play.
