GLORIA JEAN BURBRIDGE

Gloria Jean Burbridge, 77 of LaGrange, Missouri, died December 16, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Country Aire Retirement Center at Lewistown, Missouri.
The daughter of Dean and Wanda Fay Selby Bunch was born on December 2, 1948 at Kirksville, Missouri. She was united in marriage to David Burbridge on November 16, 1968 on the family farm in rural Lewis County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 3, 1998. She then spent many years with her longtime partner, Gary Townsend. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2017.
Gloria graduated from LaGrange High School in 1966. She was Den Mother for Cub Scouts, a
Girl Scout Leader and a room mother. She was also an Allen Teen Sponsor in Canton. She worked at the Lewis County Nursing Home and was an EMT for the Lewis County Ambulance District on Medic 2. She loved to read romance novels, watch the grandkids play in the backyard and care for her beloved dogs, Mykie, Oscar and Sampson.
She is survived by three children, David (Teresa) Burbridge of LaGrange, Mo., Arron (Shelly) Burbridge of Canton, Mo. and Gena (Matthew) Sellers of LaGrange, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Kaleigh Burbridge, Tegan Burbridge, Evan Burbridge, Ian Burbridge, Alexis Hills, Whitney Hills and Gauge Hills; two great grandchildren, Kyeson and Amena Dolbeare; siblings, Kent (Teri) Ayers of Quincy, Ill., Sybil Bradley of Apopka, Fla., and Gary Bunch of Canton, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and longtime partner, Gary Townsend.
A memorial visitation was held December 19, 2025 at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri. . Honorary Pallbearers: Evan Burbridge, Ian Burbridge, Gauge Hills, Darron Jarvis, Bill Ferguson and Dave Ferguson.
Inurnment will be in the Marks Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Country Aire Retirement Center in Lewistown.
