Lisa Crider, author, with her mother Sharon Murphy, at the Canton Welcome Center. Lisa has written a book, The Home Place, which is an early chapter book, geared toward third grade about a young girl, in 1920, on a farm in northeast Missouri.
The book is based on stories told to Lisa by her grandmother, Lillian Fishback Johnson, of Lewis County, Lillian's childhood was before telephones, electricity and running water. The book contains life lessons from 100 years ago that are still important today. Simple days of playing in the woods, riding a horse to school, a county fair pig scramble and Christmas on the farm.
The book can be purchased at Primos in Canton or online at Cedarbluffpublishing.com
