Northern Lights

Many Lewis County residents were able to view the northern lights in November 2025, because of strong geomagnetic storms caused by coronal mass ejections from the sun made the aurora visible in Missouri. Many people took photos using the night vision camera on their cell phones, although several residents reported seeing vivid colors without any enhancement of technology.
