Linda Prior presented Quilts of Valor to three men, Bob Corbin, Alan “Butch” Brown and John Henry. Corbin and Brown both live in LaGrange and Henry is a former LaGrange resident. Dorothy Morrison also helped present the quilts.
The Mission of the Quilts of Valor® Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
Mrs. Prior read the following statement as they presented the quilts. “As a representative of the Quilts of Valor Foundation, I sew with the group-Patriotic Quilters of SE Iowa. We sew for veterans. Quilts of Valor is a non-profit organization all volunteer group, This foundation is about people, not politics. Quilts of Valor Foundation began in 2003 by Catherine Roberts whose son was deployed in Iraq. A quilt of Valor says, Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and valor” in serving our nation. Each quilt is meant to be  different, because each veteran has their own unique story and the experience they carry with them.”
The quilts were presented at the LaGrange City hall on Oct. 8. Linda Prior had previously presented four quilts during the LaGrange School reunion on Sept. 27.
