Library Guest Artist

October 01, 2025

Canton Public Library welcomes Quincy artist Andrew Hogge as Guest Artist for the month of October. All are welcome to attend an opening reception on Wednesday, October 8 from 6 -7 p.m. at the library, located at 403 Lewis Street in Canton. A gallery talk will begin at 6:15. Refreshments will be served.
Andrew got his start in art in grade school when his 4th grade art teacher moved him into the sixth grade art class. He studied art throughout junior high and high school and continued his studies at Western Illinois University and Quincy University.
Andrew believes that art should be accessible to all. To encourage kids to pursue art, he often auctions off his popular Community paintings and donates the funds to provide scholarships for kids to attend art camps and programs. To get art into the hands of more people, he developed Quincy’s Mini Art Scavenger Hunt with mini paintings hidden around Quincy. And for those who want to start an art collection, he has this advice, “Always buy the weird stuff!”
Andrew’s artistic style has developed and changed over the years. He is currently enjoying a prolific period producing expressive artwork that bursts with color, incorporates modern culture, design, patterns and layers. These eye-catching works draw the viewer in and beg for close inspection and multiple views to appreciate.
Those who attend the reception may participate in a Mini Art Scavenger Hunt at the library. Find some mini art and take it home. For more information, visit androozart.com
