Canton Centennial Parade

This photo from 1930 is a parade entry for the Canton Centennial parade. The celebration included many events all year and concluded with an Outdoor Pageant  on the Canton riverfront. The town board, the Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club, the Woman’s Civic League and other organizations combined their efforts to celebrate the event. The pictured band’s wagon consists of a Model T truck and trailer. The band’s instruments consisted of a bass drum, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, guitar and snare drum.
