Marcia Darlene Bock, 79, of Durham, Mo., died April 7, 2025, at Country Aire Retirement Estate in Lewistown, Mo.
Marcia was born on March 8, 1946, in Durham, Mo., to Steve Abell and Goldie Wheeler Abell. She was married to John J. Bock in Durham, June 8, 1963. He survives.
Marcia held jobs outside the home but her main focus was on her family and making sure they were cared for and happy.
Marcia was a vibrant soul whose laughter was infectious and whose presence brightened every room. Marcia was a connoisseur of life’s simple pleasures and enjoyed traveling to new places that interested them in addition to road trips on their Gold Wing with friends.
She had a love for chocolate and strawberries. She was quick-witted and always joking, ensuring that those around her were always gifted with a smile. Marcia was known for her made from-scratch spaghetti and lasagna, which brought friends and family together in celebration of her delicious home cooking.
Marcia enjoyed listening to her family music, country/gospel music. Her laughter will resonate, her warmth will be missed, and her spirit will continue to inspire joy in the hearts of all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, children, Johnna Bock (Diana Hensley) of Brentwood, Tenn., Joshua Bock (Lauren Kuhlemer) of Liberty, Ill., sisters, Linda Whitaker of Palmyra, Mo., Trudy Hicks of Durham, Mo., brother, Jack Abell of Quincy, Ill., and grandson, Jonathan Buswell of Yokohama, Japan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Joseph Martin “Marty” Bock, grandson, Tyler Buswell, siblings, Hazel Smyser, Betty Perrine, Steve Abell, Bobby Abell, JoAnn Power and Joe Abell.
Funeral Services were held April 14, 2025, at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, Mo. Mr. Jordan Whitaker officiated. Marcia’s Life Celebration visitation was held April 13, 2025, at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Robbie Cunningham, Matthew Whitaker, Jordan Whitaker, Jonathan Buswell, Chris Doyle and Courtney Whitaker-See. Honorary pallbearer: Toni Long.
Burial was at Durham Cemetery in Durham, Mo.
