Canton Kiwanis Celebrating 100 Years
September 11, 2024
Children in Canton have benefited from the Kiwanis Club of Canton for 100 years through projects, donations, and support. The club will celebrate its 100-year anniversary with a celebration reception at the Canton Public Library (403 Lewis Street, Canton, MO 63435) on September 17, 2024 from 6:30-8 p.m.
The Kiwanis Club of Canton is known for its annual Trunk or Treat and Golf Tournament. The club raises money every year to support the various projects through donations, fundraising events, and support from the community. The club also supports Canton R-V School District and Culver-Stockton College.
“Kids in the community need Kiwanis. We step in and provide support when other funding sources are eliminated,” said Sharon Upchurch. “Many kids need meals on the weekends, shoes, athletic equipment, safety classes, books and backpacks. These are among the varied projects Kiwanis clubs support around the world. Kiwanis clubs sell pancakes and hold concerts, fairs and festivals to raise money to support our projects.”
The anniversary celebration event is open to the public and is a way for the club to showcase its projects, attract new members, and show what the club has achieved through the years.
