Highland Football vs Mark Twain

The Highland Cougars opened the football season at home against the Mark Twain Tigers on August 3 . The Lewis County Youth Football team and cheerleaders formed the tunnel to welcome the team to the field. Highland took the lead after #7, Chris Gaus scored a touchdown with 2:15 left in the first quarter for a score of 6-0. Mark Twain answered back with Eli Tobin scoring a touchdown and running in the two-point conversion with 1:58 left in the first quarter bringing the score to 6-8. In the second quarter, with 7:06 left, #13, Brisco Post scored a touchdown with #17, Levi Dent, running in the two point conversion bringing the score to 14-8, but Mark Twain answered back again with a touchdown run by Eli Tobin. The score at the half was tied up 14-14. In the second half, Mark Twain scored a total of 3 more touchdowns for a final score of 14-32. The Football Cougars will face Scotland County in an away game on Sept. 6.
