Progressive Agriculture Safety Day

CGB Inc. and the Lewis County SWCD hosted a Progressive Agriculture Safety Day for Fifth grade students from Canton R-V and Lewis County C-1, at the Lewis County fairgrounds in May with 108 students, and approximately 30 teachers, presenters, and volunteers attended.

Topics included safety for: animal handling, pesticides, sun, ticks, firearms, lawnmowers, water, grain bins, PTO, and electricity. Lunch for volunteers was provided by Bobby Ray’s BBQ and sponsored by Brad Sharpe Insurance, Bank of Monticello, and Humphrey Feed and Seed. Many local businesses provided items for a take-home bag for each student. It was an awesome community effort. The weather turned out to be beautiful and a great time was had by all.
