STEPHEN GRAHAM OWSLEY

Stephen G. Owsley, 78, of Canton, Mo., formerly of Hannibal, Mo., died May 14, 2024, in the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton.
He was born November 4, 1945 in Quincy, Ill., a son of Wayne and Mary Anna Graham Owsley. He married Andrea Lee Vaughn in LaGrange, Mo., on May 25, 1963. She passed away April 18, 2023.
Steve graduated from Canton R-V High School. He was employed with his dad at Lewis County Gas Company until the business was sold to HeetCo where he continued to work for a number of years. Steve had been a member of various gas organizations over the years. After his work with HeetCo he began to work in real estate development in the partnership of NHOC.
Steve was a founding member of River Valley Country Club near Canton, and was a lifetime member of the Eagles Club also in Canton. He enjoyed playing golf and had two holes-in one in his playing days. He also enjoyed baseball and was an overall sports enthusiast.
He is survived by his three daughters, Stephanie Phillips and Tina Birck both of Canton and Nicole Owsley of Palmyra, Mo.; five grandchildren, Kelsey (Logan) Berens of Little Rock, Ark., Chase Phillips of Hannibal, Mo., Allison Phillips of St. Louis, Mo., Carson Birck and Kegan Birck both of Canton; sister, Kathy Tomlinson of Quincy; nephews, Tyler and Trey Tomlinson of Quincy, Ill., Spencer Vaughn of Boston, Ma.; niece Tiffany Frese of Quincy, Ill., and Emily Kimes of St. Charles, Mo.; brother in law, Allen (Benita) Vaughn of St. Charles, Mo., and sister in law, Linda Vaughn of Wilmington, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son in law, Steve Phillips and brother in laws, Lanse Tomlinson and Anthony Vaughn.
A private graveside service will be held in Forest Grove Cemetery, Canton, Mo.
The family suggests memorials be made to Sutter Home in Palmyra, Mo., where his daughter Nicole resides in care of Davis Funeral Home, P.O. Box 108, Canton, MO 63435.
