HILDA ELNORA LAHR  

Hilda Elnora Lahr, 92, of LaGrange, Mo., died March 15, 2024 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Mo.

Hilda was born June 28, 1932 in Hannibal, Mo., a daughter of William Fredrick Cornelius and Caroline (Carrie) Elnora Lehenbauer Hunt. She married Paul Frederick Lahr on June 10, 1956 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hannibal, Mo.

Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the Lutheran Church where she was very active. She was an avid gardener and housewife on the farm. She served alongside her husband on the board of directors of Lutheran Manor Nursing Home in Hannibal and was recognized for 45 years of service in 2017. She was a collector of salt and pepper shakers and she also crocheted and sewed.

Survivors include her children, Bonnie (Larry) Toliver of Palmyra, Mo., and Bob (Kelly) Lahr of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Carrie (Dan) Blickhan of Palmyra, Christopher (Rachel) Litteken of Hannibal, MO, Brandon (Diane) Lahr of La Grange, Drew (Sara) Lahr of Columbia, Blake (Lindsey) Lahr of Republic, Mo., and Shelby (Storm) Price of Republic; great grandchildren, Bradi Lahr, Elizabeth (Liz) Deming, Brynlea Lahr, Beckett Lahr, Amelia Blickhan, Mason Lahr, Ada Lahr, Ethan Blickhan, Kennedy Lahr and a great granddaughter to be born in August, sisters in law, Roberta Hunt of Minnesota and Luella Hunt of Hannibal, Mo., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son in law Mike Litteken, two brothers, Wilbert Hunt and Walter (Betty) Hunt, one sister Norma (Merlin) Earlywine and one nephew Bobby Hunt.

Funeral services were held March 18, 2024 at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in La Grange with Pastor Wes Gehrke officiating. Visitation was held prior to services.

Burial was in Memorial Cemetery, La Grange, Mo.

The family suggests memorials be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Ladies Aid or to the Lewis County Nursing Home in care of Davis Funeral Home, P.O. Box 146, La Grange, MO 63448. 

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Lahr, Drew Lahr, Blake Lahr, Shelby Price, Carrie Blickhan and Christopher Litteken. Music will be provided by: Alice Lee Solter
