ROGER ALDERTON

Roger Dale Alderton, 55, of Ewing, Mo., died at his home in Ewing, Mo, March 14, 2024.

He was born January 28, 1969 in Quincy, Ill., a son of David Earl and Shirley Ann Dill Alderton.  He married Carla A. Reiss on August 31, 2012 in Bloomington, Ill.  She survives.

Roger loved sports and especially his dog (Ruby).  He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, racing, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was very athletic and spent his younger years playing slow pitch softball in Quincy, Ill.  He graduated from Highland High School where he was an all-state football player. His family and friends meant the world to him and were the highlights of his life. 

Roger was a very caring person and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.  Without question, Roger was very passionate about the things that he believed.

Survivors include his wife, Carla Alderton of Ewing; one sister, Kathy L. Wheeler of Elsworth, Ill.; one brother, Rusty D. Alderton of Lexington, Ill.; three step children, Kaci Moody of Decatur, Ill., Nicklaus Moody of Oostburg, Wis., and Jordan Reiss of Robinson, IL; six step grandchildren, Hannah L. Espíritu Moody, Christian H. Espíritu Moody, Kasara J. Moody, Noé E. Espíritu Moody, Olivia Rae Moody and Evalyn Mae Moody; five nieces and nephews, Carrie Ann Dyel of Quincy, Ill., Kayla Demlow of Elsworth, Ill., Kyle Wheeler of Fort Bragg, Calif., Dallas Alderton of Texas and Stormy Alderton of Lexington, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard Alderton.

A celebration of life service will be April 6, 2024 with place and times to be announced later.
