MILDRED FEATHERLIN

Mildred A. “Millie” Featherlin, 90, of Lewistown, Missouri, died February 26, 2024, at the Country Aire Retirement Center in Lewistown.
The daughter of C. Raymond and Rosa D’Camp Peak was born on December 27, 1933, in Industry, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Robert M. “Bob” Featherlin on August 23, 1953, at the Ebeneezer Church in rural Macomb, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2016.
Millie was a long-time member of the Lewistown Christian Church. She helped Bob take care of the farm and was head cook for the Lewis County C-1 Schools for over 20 years. Her enthusiasm for cooking and baking won her many blue ribbons at the Lewis County Fair. Millie loved working with kids, so she volunteered as a Foster Grandparent at the school for many years. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, spending time with her school foster grandchildren and attending their activities which included taking many bus trips.
She is survived by two children, Steven “Steve” Robert (Lee Ann) Featherlin of Hampton, Va., and Cynthia “Cindy” Ann (Eric) Georges of Highlands Ranch, Co.; five grandchildren, Brandon (Katie) Georges of Highlands Ranch, CO., Amy Georges of Olney Springs, Co., Stephanie (Donald) Lee of Hampton, Va., Cory Featherlin of Hampton, Va. and Alex Featherlin of Hampton, Va.; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Eldon Peak.
Funeral services: March 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Mo., with Rev. Elmer Hagood officiating. Visitation: Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri.
Inurnment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at Macomb, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Country Aire Retirement Center or the Foster Grandparent Program.
