HOWARD RUSSELL STICE

Howard Russell Stice, 81 of Lewistown, Missouri diedFebruary 14, 2024 at the LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, Missouri.
The son of Warren “Buzz” and Elizabeth (Scoggin) Stice was born on June 15, 1942 in rural Lewistown, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Roberta Brumbaugh on June 27, 1965 in the Lewistown Christian Church in Lewistown, Missouri.
Russell graduated from Culver-Stockton College and received his Masters Degree at NMSU at Kirksville, Mo. He first taught at Unionville, Gorin and Brashear before teaching with the Lewis County C-1 Schools at LaGrange and Highland for 24 years. He was dedicated to Lewis County C-1 Schools and in later years he enjoyed visiting with former students, colleagues, and lifelong friends. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and follow their events. He enjoyed hunting mushrooms, pheasants, quail. He achieved his retirement dream of going elk hunting in Colorado several times and he also went prairie dog hunting in South Dakota. He loved his brittany and beagle hunting dogs and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He is survived by his wife Roberta Stice of Lewistown, Mo.; a son, Randall (Teya) Stice of Palmyra, Mo., a daughter, Rebecca (Scott) Jones of Sturgeon, Mo., daughter in law, Laura Stice of Lewistown, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Brettan Stice, Bennett (Drew) Stice, Makaylee (Connor) Fett, Dalton Kaylor, Dawson Kaylor, Camryn Stice, David Stice, Paden Jones; two great grandchildren, Makenzlee and Ryatt Fett; four brothers, Neil Stice of Columbia, Mo., Gene Stice of Lewistown, Mo., Dennis Stice of Lewistown, Mo. and Allan Stice of Quincy, Il.; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard Stice, granddaughter, Amanda Brown and an infant great granddaughter.
Funeral services were held February 17, 2024 at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Paul Harvey officiating. Visitation was held preceding services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown.
