OREN GOSNEY

Oren Cecil Gosney, 92, of Durham, Mo., died January 11, 2024, at a family home in Philadelphia, Mo.

Oren was born November 27, 1931, in rural Lewis County, Mo., to JW and Anna Marie Gnuse Gosney. He was married to Ruth E. Johnson on July 5, 1959, in Philadelphia, Mo. She died July 13, 1999.

Survivors include his children, Sherry Lynn McPike (Jerome) of Quincy, Ill., Bradley Oren Gosney (Denn) of Philadelphia, Mo., Bryan Wayne Gosney of Durham, Mo., and Shelly Kim Gosney of Durham, Mo.; brothers Gerald Gosney of Ewing, and Ray Gosney (Lilly) of Maywood, Mo.; grandchildren Marcus Mays (Chante), Cassandria Mays, Samantha Saxbury (Marcus), Katherine Berhorst (Daniel), Hannah Allen (Ethan), Dusk Gosney (Michelle), and Kylor Gosney; great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Elijah, Chamar, Cashlynn, Cincere, Capone, Caprice, Piper, Mira, Nico, Bradley, Nola, Thea, and Ryder; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Oren was preceded in death by his Parents, wife Ruth Gosney, brothers Paul Gosney, Lawrence Gosney, and William Leigh Gosney.

Funeral Services were held January 17, 2024, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, Mo. Pastor Dewayne Larenson officiated.

Burial with full military honors by Boots-Dickson Post 174 of the American Legion was at Durham Cemetery in Durham, Mo.
