KENT ALAN PERKINS

Kent Alan Perkins Kent died January 5, 2024 at his home in Seneca, SC. Kent was born March 13, 1963 in Columbia, Mo., to Larry and Louise Perkins.

Kent’s previous residences were: Yuma, Ariz.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Knoxville, Ia.; and Carlinville, Ill. Kent graduated from Carlinville High School in 1981, where he had been active in football, and took pride in ownership of his Camaro Z28.

We lost Kent earlier than anyone expected, but he was loved by all and will be missed.He had a very outgoing personality and enjoyed life and meeting new people- thus taking on many new adventures. Kent also loved spoiling his nephews and his great nieces. Kent had a great love for cooking and culinary arts. When he was not cooking at work, he loved to cook for his friends and family- always bringing new and creative ways to prepare a variety of foods. He loved to travel, enjoyed living in many parts of the country, which included activities at the beach and golfing with his friends His professional life included being a Chef, a Sales and Marketing Consultant, and an Advertising Manager.

Kent is survived by his mother, Louise Perkins, Cape Carteret, NC, brothers, Craig Perkins (Kristine) Arlington Heights, IL; Brian Perkins (Marjorie) Cape Carteret, N.C. Nephews: Mike Perkins (Brittany) Moorehead City, N.C.; Kyle Perkins (Brittney) Cape Carteret, N.C.; Andrew Perkins (Molly) Evanston, Ill. His great nieces Kaylee and Kendall Perkins of Cape Carteret, N.C. Aunt and uncles; Mike and Jeanette Van Meter, Roger and Janice Van Meter, all of Lewistown Mo.; Wes and Phyllis Segawa, Hilo, HI; Judy Perkins McPhail, Quincy, Ill., and many first and second cousins.

Kent was preceded in death by his father Larry Perkins, grandparents Raymond and Elaine Van Meter, Horace and Eula Perkins; aunt and uncle Lois and Bruce Hinton.

A celebration of life is being planned.
