LaGrange Bank Hold-Up

On January 8, 2024 at approximately 1:13 PM, NECOMM 911 notified the La Grange Police Department of a hold-up alarm at the Town & Country Bank, located at 110 South Main Street.

An officer at the police department, which is just around the corner from the bank, was leaving to respond to the alarm and encountered the suspect, who was entering the police department lobby. The officer observed cash visibly stuffed into the suspect's pockets at which time he was identified as being involved in the incident and taken into custody.

Additional officers responded to the bank and determined the person being held at the police station was the only suspect involved. The bank remained closed for the rest of the business day while the scene was processed.

The suspect, Jason Edward Day, 49, of rural La Grange, was transported to the Clark County Jail in Kahoka. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lewis County Sheriff's Office, and Canton Police Department assisted with the response. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been notified of the incident as well.
