VIRGIE MAY KELLEY

Mrs. Virgie May Kelley, 99, of the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, Mo., died December 20, 2023. in the home.
She was born June 12, 1924 in Ten Mile, Mo., a daughter of John Henry and Minnie Mable Bowels Alderton. She married Harold Fleming Kelley on September 25, 1950. He passed away August 30, 2005.
She was a member of the Ewing First Baptist Church where she served on the Kitchen committee for many years. She had worked in earlier years as a cook at Highland High School and also at Prairie View Rest Home in Lewistown.
Survivors include her sons, Jon Bradley (Cora) Kelley of Anchorage, AK, Samuel Kevin Kelley and Stanley (Phyllis) Kelley both of Ewing, Mo.; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sister’s Cora Edna Powell and Opal Fern Clow, five brothers, Arthur Henry, Elbert Richmond, David Owen, Harvey Nelson and twin brother Virgil Merle Alderton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ewing with Pastor Tim Smith and Pastor Richard Ulrich officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ewing. Pallbearers: Timothy Kelley, Joshua Kelley, Brian Dreyer, Jeremy Kelley, Austin
Embry-Osborne and Stanley Jay Kelley. Music: Jayden Dreyer, Vocalist with Timothy Kelley, Pianist; singing “In the Garden” Jeana Rahe Houchins, Organist. Rob Robertson, Song Leader and Linda Robertson, Pianist leading congregational hymn “It is well with my Soul”
Burial will be in Durham Cemetery, Durham, Mo.
The family suggests memorials be made to Durham Cemetery or to Heartland Resources in care of Ball-Davis Funeral Home, P.O. Box 273, Ewing, MO 63440.
