LaGrange School Reunion

September 30, 2023

The LaGrange School reunion was held September 23 at the LaGrange Lions Club. A large crowd attended and enjoyed an entertaining program, great desserts by Angie Boyer and Sueann Gaus, and soft serve ice cream provided by the Lions Club. The program began as most school days did, the pledge of allegiance was recited and attendance was taken. Terry Hawkins was the emcee. Hawkins and Rajah Maples portrayed students from the 1960s on their first day of school. Elvis arrived and took pictures with all the young girls who adored him during their high school days. Pasty Cline (Tammy LaFoe) sang a couple of her hit songs. Don and Betty Fifer were recognized for being married 67 years and Larry and Maxine Wolfmeyer are celebrating 66 years of marriage. The crowd enjoyed many memories of days gone by. LaGrange Reunion Royalty was selected. Door prizes were given away and it was decided to plan the next reunion for September 2025.

Special thanks and appreciation to the City of LaGrange, Mark Twain Casino, LaGrange Lions Club, Press-News Journal, LaGrange Garden Club, Davis Funeral Home, Peggy Steinbeck, Paula Vaughn, Vicki Stiffey, Roger Tiemann, John French, Bob Corbin, Curtis Farr, City of LaGrange employees, Tammy LaFoe, Rajah Maples, Terry Hawkins, and any others who helped in many ways. The last class to graduate from LaGrange High School was 1970. The school was then used for junior high and grade school, then became just grade school until the last 1990s when it closed. The school was torn down in 2018.
