JAMES (JUNIOR) MILLER

James “Junior” Miller, age 86, of Canton, Mo., died September 21, 2023 at the Lewis County Nursing Home with his wife at his side.
Junior was born January 10, 1937 in Benjamin, Mo., son of James and Loraine Lay Miller. He married Shelby Job February 16, 1956 and together they raised three children, Robin, Greg, and Chris. Shelby passed away April 15, 1985. Junior later married Jan Carter on May 28, 1988 and she passed away March 16, 2006. Junior then married Judy Penn September 1, 2007. Judy brought two daughters to their marriage Brenda Mallett and Kimberly Schneider.
Junior retired from the LaGrange Foundry in 1998 after 41 years of service. Junior then farmed for several years. Junior enjoyed having friends and family at his Benjamin Farm to camp. He also enjoyed taking a ride down to the riverfront and out to see his farms. Junior loved the Lewis County Fair and his favorite thing to do at the fair was eat ice cream and visit with friends.
He was a member of Canton Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife Judy Miller; two children, Robin (Doug) Henley of Hidden Valley, Pa., Chris (Ann) Miller of Summerville, S.C.; two step-daughters, Brenda (Doug) Mallett and Kimberly (Aren) Schneider of LaGrange, Mo.; brother, Gary (Joan) McMahill of Jacksonville, Fla; eight grandchildren Shelby Henley, Brandon Miller, Lane Miller, Chad Miller, Ryan Miller, Shawn Miller, Christopher Miller and Sophie Miller; two step-grandchildren; Drew Mallett and Brock Schneider and loving nieces and nephews.
Junior was preceded in death by wives Shelby Miller and Jan Miller, his son Greg Miller and twin sister Georgia May.
Visitation was held September 24, at Davis Funeral Home, Canton, Mo.
Funeral services were held September 25, 2023 at Davis Funeral Home, Canton, Mo., with Rev. Mandy Gosik officiating.
Pallbearers: Doug Mallett, Drew Mallett, Aren Schneider, Brock Schneider, Dan McCutchan and Matt Wolf. Honorary Pallbearers: Shelby Henley, Brandon Miller, Lane Miller, Chad Miller, Ryan Miller, Shawn Miller, Christopher Miller and Sophie Miller.
Music: Great is thy Faithfulness and How Great Thou Art.
Burial was in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, Mo.
The family suggests memorials be made to Canton Christian Church or Lewis County Nursing Home.
