DEBRA KAY FIELDS
Debra Kay Fields, 66, of the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Mo., formerly of Hurdland, Mo., died September 13, 2023. in the home.
Debra, Deb, Debbie, or Mama Deb was born April 14, 1957 in Vincennes, Indiana, a daughter of Walt Sr. and Josephine Harper.
She was a CNA until she had a stroke in 1993. She volunteered constantly at the head start in Vincennes and then the schools. She was known at church for leading the singing portion of the services. She also played the tambourine there. She enjoyed all sorts of arts and crafts as a hobby and liked to paint, weave, and make dream catchers, etc.
She never turned anybody away who needed help. Her house and heart were always open. She had a listening ear and never met a person with whom she couldn’t find something to talk about.
She is survived by her two children; Kelly Fields and Trevor Fields and one granddaughter, Kimberly Fields. She also has several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Walt Harper Jr., Steven Harper Sr., Ruth McCord, Sherry Grove, and both of her parents.
Service arrangements are being handled by the Davis Funeral Home, Canton, Mo.
