JOHN EPPERSON

John Lee Epperson, 83 of rural Lewistown, Missouri went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 17, 2023 at the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, Missouri.
The son of Sherman (Cal) and Georgia Blanken-ship Epperson was born February 8, 1940 in rural Iberia, Missouri. He married Judith Kirsch on August 27, 1966 at Collinsville, Illinois.
He was a 1958 graduate of Collinsville High School. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1958 until 1961. He loved farming and spent the majority of his life doing that. Besides farming, he worked for Knapheide Manufacturing for over 30 years. He was baptized into the Christian faith September 1, 2021.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Epperson of Lewistown, Mo.; three children, Jean (Dave) Stough of Fenton, Mo., Jason Epperson of Lewistown, Mo. and Julie (Richard) Crabill of Ewing, Mo.; four grandchildren, DaJhonna (Jindu) Bolarinwa, Benjamin Crabill and Nicholas Crabill, and Scott Stough; three great grandchildren, Lewah, Zahra and Zaiden Bolarinwa; siblings, Ken (Sharon) Epperson of Columbia, Mo., Pat Majesky of Central Point, Or., Jackie Garin of Maryville, Il., Kathy (Soc) Bogdanovich of St. Louis, Mo., Mary (John) Piker of Troy, Il., and Sandy Love of Collinsville, Il.; a sister in law, Juanita Epperson of Bucyrus, Mo.; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Gerald, Norman, Sherm (Jr.) and Tommy Epperson, sister, Shirley Cornman, and five brothers in law, Larry Giritz, Larry Garin, Harley Cornman, Dale Kirsch and Leo Majesky.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ten Mile Baptist Church, James L. Lillard Cemetery in rural Canton, Missouri with Rev. Russell Brownell and Rev. Barry Pfister officiating. Pallbearers: Ben Crabill, Nick Crabill, Richard Crabill, Dave Stough, Alva Farr and Mike Epperson.
Graveside military honors will be provided by the Lewis County Memorial Post #578.
Memorials may be made to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, Ten Mile Baptist Church or the First Baptist Church of LaGrange.
