KARON GOODWIN

Karon K. Goodwin, 76, of Quincy, Ill., died June 23, 2023 in her home in Quincy.

No formal services are planned at this time. Arrangements for cremation are under the care of the O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy.

Karon was born on August 13, 1946 in Quincy, Ill., to Harold and Virginia (Patterson) Goodwin.

Survivors include her children, Rogette Vaughn, Jody Vaughn, and her beloved yorkie dog Bella, all of Quincy, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Kayla Vaughn, Troy Hedges, Tiana Scheiter, Amber Vaughn, Shealen Vaughn, Karrigan Vaughn, Chance Vaughn, and Dawson Dent; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Teresa Martineau; and one brother, Bill Goodwin.

Karon was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jerry Goodwin and Buddy Goodwin; and one sister, Sharon Goodwin.

Professionally, Karon worked in housekeeping for various businesses in the Quincy area.

Karon loved to cook wonderful meals for her family, especially her homemade fried chicken, potato salad, and biscuits and gravy. She also liked walking in her neighborhood near Kentucky Street, playing with her four yorkies, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed tuning into the TV Land channel and watching old Westerns and SpongeBob. When she had time to travel, one of Karon’s favorite destinations to visit was New Mexico.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help with funeral expenses in care of Kayla Vaughn.
