ALAN KEITH CRIST

Alan Keith Crist, 67, of Canton, MO died May 18, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born December 10, 1955 in Quincy, IL a son of Oscar Dudley and Miriam Elaine Brown Crist. He graduated from Clark County High School in 1973.

He farmed with his dad in Clark County. He married Randie Vice in 1980 they had two children La Trisha and Marc. He joined the United States Marine Marine Corps in 1982 and was a Desert Storm Veteran. He returned home after his service taking care of his parents and farming with his lifelong friend Curtis Hunziker for over 30 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, he enjoyed bowling, reading westerns, farming and spending time with his granddaughter.

He is survived by his daughter, La Trisha Crist; granddaughter, Cordeliah, nephew Brian Atkins, nieces Kathy Saleh and Jayne Atkins, several great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a foster brother Pete Atkins and his son Marc.

Funeral services were held May 23, 2023 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton, MO with Rev. David Wilson Sr. officiating.
Burial with military honors was in Durham Cemetery, Durham, MO. Visitation was held preceding services in the funeral home. Music: Amazing Grace, Alan Jackson; Cats in the Cradle, Harry Chapin; and Till we meet again, Latter Day Saints.  Pallbearers: Curtis Hunziker, Jack Crist, Matt Schlotter, David Wilson II, Pete Spurgeon and Dale Adams. Honorary Pallbearers: Jacob Taff, Mariah Taff, Brian Atkins, Kathy Saleh, Alex Atkins, and Jayne Atkins

The family suggests memorials be made to the Durham Cemetery Association in care of Davis Funeral Home, Canton, MO.
