STEVEN SCHIEFERDECKER

Steven Charles (Steve) Schieferdecker, 56, died April 25, 2023, at 6:50 p.m. in St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.

He was born on March 25, 1967, in Augsburg, Germany, the son of Larry and Pat (Burmeier) Schieferdecker. He went to Highland H.S. and graduated from Payson Seymour High in 1985.

He was a mechanic and had worked at Titan Wheel, Hutmachers and Gem City Ford.

Steve is survived by three sons, Justin (Karley) Schieferdecker, Joshua (Paris) Schieferdecker, and Andrew (Trisha) Schieferdecker, Shelby Perkins; grandchildren, Zaelyn, Graton, Javien, Adam, Jona and Evelyn, mother, Pat McMillen, siblings, Scott Schieferdecker, Eric (Tracy) Schieferdecker, Rachel Carver, Molly (Matt) Schleuter, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father and special nephew Jordan S. Schieferdecker, grandparents, C.L. and Hazel Schieferdecker and Carl and Leela Burmeier.

Cremation was provided by Lincoln Cremation Society. Celebration of Life is planned at a later date.
