WINSTON COURTNEY

Winston Earle Courtney, 64 of Quincy, Illinois died February 22, 2023 after a battle with cancer at his home in Quincy.
The son of Earle Wesley and Jeanette Ellen Riebling Courtney was born on September 25, 1958 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Quincy, Illinois where he was baptized May 23, 1978. He worked for Calcium Carbonate where he would later become disabled in 1989. After this event, he would live his life in different forms. He spent the last 11 years taking care of the family farm and spending time with Linda.
On February 12, 1978, he married Vivian (Kimbrell) Grimes and they had three children, Robert Lee (Jamie) Courtney, Candice Ann Courtney and Rocky Earle Courtney, all of Quincy, Ill. Winston and Vivian were divorced in 1988. He later met his long time companion Linda Williams of Canton, Mo. Also surviving are his mother, Jeanette Courtney of Quincy, Ill.; six grandchildren, Jordan Lehenbauer, Zane Courtney, Alyson Courtney, Jade Courtney, Zoey Smith and Zaiden Smith; siblings, Wesley (Marsha) Courtney of Quincy, Ill., John Courtney and companion Mary Kay Costigan of Quincy, Ill., Cheryl (Edward) Meyer of Canton, Mo. and Edward Courtney and companion Carla Hull of Payson, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father, Earle Courtney.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church in Quincy, Illinois with Rev. Tom Rains officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 5, from 2 PM until the time of services at the First Southern Baptist Church in Quincy.
Memorials may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church of Quincy.
