Canton Public Library Bad Art Night

February 22, 2023

Can’t draw a straight line? Do you lack artistic talent? Do you wish you could be more creative but are afraid everyone will laugh? If you answered “YES’’ to any of these questions, the Canton Public Library wants you to take part in Bad Art Night, where laughter and fun are part of the process. On Tuesday, February 28, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m., adults aged 18 and over are invited to come to the library to create their own disasterpiece! No talent needed - or allowed!

The library will provide all the supplies you need, including paint, glue, pipe cleaners, pompoms, scissors, toilet paper tubes, glitter, and more! So dust off what little creativity you have and create artwork that only a mother could love. You can create sculpture, paintings, drawings, mobiles, or wearable art, as long as it is terrible art.

In the fun spirit of the event, if your art is bad enough, you might win the Terrible Trophy! The photos above show last year’s proud winner, Alyssa Kermoade, as well as examples of other bad art.
So, grab a friend and prepare yourselves for a memorable event that embraces imperfection.
Space is limited, so contact the library to reserve your spot.

The library is located at 403 Lewis Street in Canton. It is open Tuesday - Friday 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturdays 10 AM to 2 PM. Visit the library’s website at www.cantonmopubliclibrary.org, find them on Facebook at Your Canton Public Library, or call 573-288-5279.
