KAREN SUE (HALL) LA SALA

Karen Sue (Hall) La Sala, loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., surrounded by her children.
Born April 4, 1949 in Frederick, Okla., to David and Eula Hall, Karen was one of nine children. She married Carl La Sala on September 20, 1968. They were married for 52 years and are survived by three children: a daughter, Heather (Antonio) Johnson of Shiloh, IL and two sons, Vance (Amanda Anne) La Sala and Adam (Kerri) La Sala, both of Canton, Mo. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Nicole Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; Olivia Johnson of Canton, Mo.; and Phoebe, Josephine, Charles, Ezekiel, and Selah La Sala of Canton, Mo., in addition to three sisters Della Rich of Moore, Okla., Brenda (Ken) Kraatz of Hawley, Tx., and Patti (Jim) Linker, of Vernon, Tx.. Karen was preceded in death by the love of her life, Carl, two grandchildren, Magnolia and Tobias La Sala, siblings and siblings-in-law, David (Jean) Hall, Jimmy (Pat) Hall, Joyce (Hall) Choitz (Paul), Bobby Hall, James Rich, Carol (Hall) Bohannon (Jack), Dwight Schreiner, and Willie Whitson.
Karen was the epitome of a woman after God’s heart. She never missed an opportunity to pray for someone or offer up words of encouragement. Karen was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Canton where she enjoyed participating in many groups, most recently, the Senior Stars. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and always welcomed sleepovers at Nana’s house. Karen loved to travel and would make herself available anytime someone wanted to take a trip even if it was just to go to lunch. Karen worked at the Flower Mill and Trading Post as a florist for over 15 years and before that she worked in the loan department of Plaza Bank of Miami, Fla. Her retirement years have been spent spending time visiting with friends and family. Her light and joy will be sadly missed by those of us still here on Earth, but we rejoice knowing that she is home with the two loves of her life, her Heavenly Father and her husband Carl.
