JOYCE FELDKAMP

Joyce Jane Cary Feldkamp, 82, of LaGrange died December 4, 2022 peacefully at LaBelle Manor with complications from a brain tumor.

Joyce was born March 16, 1940 in Hannibal, Mo. She was the daughter of William “Bill” Clayton and Mary Jane Boetjer Cary. Joyce married Earl Clayton Feldkamp November 21, 1962 and to this union three daughters were born.

Joyce graduated from Canton High School in 1958 and attended Culver Stockton College for two years. Joyce worked at Moorman Mfg until she took time off work to raise her family. After raising her daughters, she went back to work. She had various jobs that included Ayers Oil Company in inventory, substitute teacher at LaGrange Elementary and as a proof teller for Farmers and Merchants Bank of LaGrange. Joyce’s biggest accomplishment and what brought her the most pride was being able to stay home and raise her daughters.

Joyce attended the LaGrange Christian Church. She was a 4-H leader, a Sunday School Teacher and was on the committee that started Kindergarten in LaGrange. Joyce enjoyed traveling and seeing the sites on the back of the Honda Goldwing. She also enjoyed relaxing at her backyard pool, reading, playing the piano and organ, watching her TV shows and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Beth (Kevin) Strange of Edina, Mo., Alice (Steven) Smith of LaGrange, Mo., and Denise (Paul Borrowman) Feldkamp of Lake Ozark, Mo. Four grandchildren, Tiffany (Cody) Shannon of Quincy, Ill., Hannah (Drew) Horner of Canton, Mo., Ryan Strange (Ally Gregory) of Edina, Mo., and Blake Smith of Springfield, Mo. Five great grandchildren, Raelyn Shannon, Nolan Shannon, Addelyn Shannon, Avery Horner, and Payton Strange. Two brothers, Bob (Nancy) Cary of Canton, Mo., and George (Judy) Cary of Ottawa, Ill., and sister, Mary Ann (BJ) Thornburg of Fredericksburg, Va. Sister in laws, Carol Cary of St. Louis, Pat Feldkamp of Lee’s Summitt, Mo., Janet (Glen) Sittig of Parkville, Mo., Sharon Feldkamp of LaGrange, Mo. Brother in laws, Wayne (Mary) Feldkamp of LaGrange, Lewis (Dianne) Feldkamp of Warrenton, Mo. Also, survived are numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Earl on May 13, 2019 and her parents. One brother, John Cary, and nephew Kevin Cary. Three brothers in laws, Paul Feldkamp, Donald Feldkamp, and Leon Feldkamp.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange with Rev. Kary Meyers officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday morning, Dec. 10 in the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers: Ryan Strange, Blake Smith, Cody Shannon, Drew Horner, Don Maddox, Josh Maddox, Shane Cary and Brad Thornburg. Honorary Pallbearers: Patty Childress, Barb Pearl, Tiffany Shannon, Hannah Horner, Ally Gregory Raelyn Shannon, Nolan Shannon, Addelyn Shannon, Avery Horner, and Payton Strange. Music: “I Can Only Imagine”, “Amazing Grace My Chains are Broken” and “How Great thou Art”.

Burial will be in Mark’s Cemetery in La Grange.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the LaGrange Christian Church or LaBelle Manor.
