RANCE OLSON

Mrs. Frances Louise Olson, 90. of Country Aire Retirement Estates of Lewistown, Mo., formerly of Ewing, Mo., died October 31, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Frances was born February 20, 1932 in Kellerville, Ill., a daughter of Russell Henry and Vera Eileen Crossman Noble. She married Glen Olson on June 5, 1949 in Ewing, Mo. He passed away, December 7, 2017.
Frances was a member of First Baptist Church of Ewing. She spent 25 years at Harris Broadcast Equipment retiring in 1986. She and her husband were members of the Quincy area Travel Club and the Holiday Rambler Camping Club. She and Glen traveled to Arizona from 1986 to 2007 where they spent the winter months and she enjoyed playing tennis while there. Frances was a wonderful cook and enjoyed many family gatherings with her children and grandchildren making delicious pies, noodles, rolls and fried chicken. Gardening and tending to her flowers also filled her pastime with enjoyment.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Platz of Sequin, TX and Tammy (Tom) Schroeder of Maywood, Mo.; one son, Doug (Debbie) Olson of Quincy; five grandsons, Shawn (Jennifer) Platz of Austin, TX, Trent (Katie) Schroeder of Palmyra, Mo., Ryne Platz of Sequin, TX, Brett Olson of Brentwood, Mo., and Derrick (Samantha) Platz of Sequin, TX; five granddaughters, Amanda (Chris) Schultze of Seguin, TX, Alyce (Mario) Rosales of Seguin, TX, Brooke (Mike) Spring of Carmel, IN, Tiffany (Brian) Raines of Arlington, TX and Triston (Steven) Jones of Palmyra, Mo.; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Kenneth) Goings of Ewing, MO and Donna Mae (Kenny) Gillespie of Ewing and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Betty Stone and Helen Boone and one great grandson Xavyer Todd Jones and son in law, Stan Platz.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ewing with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Elmer Hagood officiating. Visitation will be held Friday morning from 9:00 until time of services at the First Baptist Church. Pallbearers: Shawn Platz, Trent Schroeder, Ryne Platz, Brett Olson, Derrick Platz, Mike Spring, Steven Jones, Chris Schultze, Mario Rosales and Brian Raines. Music: Debbie Faulconer, vocalist and Jeanna Rahe Houchins, organist
Burial will be in Durham Cemetery, Durham, Mo.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Durham Cemetery Association.
