DOROTHY LOUISE COLLINS  

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Collins, 73, of Canton, Mo., died October 23, 2022 at the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton, Mo.

She was born April 24, 1949 a daughter of Joe and Louise Tarpein Dodd. She married Frederick William Collins on March 25, 1972 in Canton. He died February 3, 2015.

Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton. She had worked for Hy-Vee on Harrison in Quincy for many years and had also worked at the Lewis County Nursing Home for a number of years. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, drawing, decorating, remodeling, yard sales and thrift shopping. Her life was spent building relationships with her grandchildren after Billy was raised into adulthood.

Survivors include her son William J. Collins of Canton; sister, Nellie Dodd of Columbia, Mo.; three grandsons, Levi Alspaw, Christopher Alspaw and Billy Collins all of Canton and granddaughter, Jaclyne Collins also of Canton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Larry Dodd.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton with Fr. Callistus Okoroji officiating. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton.

The family suggests memorials be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
