DAVID PORTER

David Earl Porter, 53, of Monticello, Mo., died August 18, 2022 at his home near Monticello.

He was born July 20, 1969 in Quincy, Ill., a son of Richard E. and Patricia E. Golbricht Porter. He married Kim Sloan Hackemack on July 6, 1991 in Canton, Mo. She survives.

David appreciated staying busy working on the farm with his John Deere equipment, especially working on the bulldozer and trackhoe clearing land and building race tracks as well as hunting and being out in the woods. He was an NRA member and enjoyed going to his sons shooting sports events. He loved shooting sports and loved shooting guns. He loved the chickens, ducks and all other birds. He was a lifelong farmer and had a custom spraying business with custom crop application for over ten years. He had attended The Crossing in Quincy for the past 16 years. David enjoyed all time spent with family and attending church with them. He had a strong faith in Christ. He enjoyed the simple things in life and treasured his time spent with his children and grandchildren, often commenting the best things in life can’t be bought.

Survivors include his wife Kim of Monticello; sons, Jesse Porter and fiancé (Sierra Schroder) of Monticello and Sam (Kailey) Porter of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; daughter, Brooke Porter of the home and family friend Wyatt Logsdon; granddaughters, Falon and Scarlett Porter of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; Father, Richard (Janet) Porter of Lewistown; brother, Rick (Karen) Porter of Lewistown; sister Peggy (Gregg) Jennings of La Grange, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia E. Porter.

Memorial services were held August 22, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Ewing.
The family suggests memorials be made to The Crossing at 48th and Maine Street, Quincy, Ill., or to the Lewistown Cemetery Association, Lewistown, Mo.
