MARY WHITAKER MCINTOSH

Mary Ellen Whitaker McIntosh. 71, died February 9, 2016 in Nashville surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 17, 1945 in Quincy, Ill. Her parents were the late Basil Lee Whitaker and Helen Louise Bugh Whitaker of Ewing, Mo.

In her professional life, Mary was the successful owner of Maid For A Day Maid Service in Brentwood, TN, and later a Contract Employee with Day Zimmermann for Duke Energy in the Carolinas. However, her main role in life was that of devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Mary is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Dr. Ken McIntosh of Nashville; three children: son, Mike McIntosh, his wife Joy McIntosh and daughter Scotlyn all of Shakopee, Minnesota; daughter Heather McIntosh Demetra and husband Chris Demetra, their children Summer, Charlie, Katie, and Hannah; son Scott McIntosh and wife Mandy McIntosh all of Nashville, Tenn.

Surviving siblings include brothers Virgil Whitaker, John Whitaker, Dan Whitaker, Lavern Whitaker, Delane Whitaker, all of Ewing, Mo., and Cliff Whitaker in Plano, Texas; sisters; Madeline Trpkosh of Le Mars, Iowa, Betty Thrasher of Shelbyville, Mo., and Victoria Williams-Fisher of Troy, Mo.. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Virginia Leekley, Lorraine Crabill, Gloria Faye Whitaker AND brothers: Roger Whitaker, Robert Whitaker, Phillip Whitaker, and James Whitaker.

Friends and family were received February 14, 2016 at the home of Heather and Chris Demetra, 5209 Nevada Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209.
