FRANCES KEPPNER
Frances K. Keppner, 98 of Lewistown, Missouri died July 12, 2022 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
She was born on August, 25, 1923 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene M. and Catherine Elligsen Heinecke.
She was united in marriage to George Keppner on October 17, 1945 in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1989.
Frances graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 1941 and attended Oklahoma Baptist University in 1957. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lewistown and also belonged to Monticello Order of the Eastern Star. In 1954, George became a Southern Baptist minister and they served in Missouri, Oklahoma, Iowa and Colorado. After they retired, she and George were mission service volunteers in Pueblo, Colorado for two years. Over the years, Frances did all types of clerical positions, also substitute teacher and retired as head start teacher in 1986. She did volunteer work for many places after George passed away.
She is survived by a brother, Dale (Dorothy) Heinecke of Madison, Wisconsin, a sister, Kay (Steve) Ginther of Quincy, Illinois, many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, great great nieces & nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Eugene “Bud” Heinecke, sister, Helen Smith, nephew, Marty Heinecke, brothers in law, Harry Smith and Dick Keppner, sisters in law, Frances Heinecke and Ruth Keppner.
Funeral services were held July 15, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Ted Middleton officiating. Pallbearers: Harry Smith, Garry Smith, Kevin Heinecke, Britney Boden, Justin Crow and Brooke Boden. Honorary Pallbearers: Larry Heinecke, Kenneth Heinecke, D.J. Ohnemus, Edward Blazel, Robert Boden, Jason Smith, Corry Smith, Rick Keppner, Richard Lefringhouse, Darin Lefringhouse, Spencer Lefringhouse and Chad McLaughlin.
Burial was in Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, Illinois.
