GARY JOB

Gary Walter Job died on July 2, 2022 in Wichita KS. He was born October 3, 1942, in rural Canton Mo.; the son of Harold Raymond and Marguerite Mary (Bailey) Job.

He graduated LaGrange High School in 1960, attended Kirksville State Teachers College and went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967. Following his military service, he resided in El Dorado, Kan.

Gary worked hard for his family and fed almost the whole of Butler County at Job Lunch, El Dorado, where his veal sandwiches were known far and wide. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed gardening and planting trees and flowers. He was also an avid coin collector.

Gary’s true joy was his family which includes his daughter, Shannon (Joe) Taylor of El Dorado; granddaughter Alexa (George) McAvoy of Towanda and great grandchildren, Kyllian and Harper; and brother, Ray Job of Canton, Mo.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his paternal grandparents, Jesse Lee and Dora Lillian Sherwood Job, his maternal grandparents, Walter Edgar and Margaret Elizabeth Tretter Bailey, and his beloved aunt, Bonnie Marie Bailey Frazee.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held July 9, 2022 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home in El Dorado, Kansas.
