JEAN ANN LEASMAN

Mrs. Jean Ann Leasman, 75, of Canton, Mo., died June 15, 2022 at the home of her step daughter in Payson, Ill.

She was born October 8, 1946 in Edina, Missouri a daughter of Serrel and Edna Ford Fountain Jr. She married James E. Leasman Sr. on June 29, 1979 in Taylor, Mo. He survives.

Jean had worked at the Illinois Veterans Home for 16 years and previous to that at Good Samaritan Home both in Quincy. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and tending to her flowers. Her world revolved around her son Jamie. She was a member of the Bethel Christian Church and in younger years liked to garden with her dad. She also loved her dog Elvira.

Survivors include her husband James E. Leasman Sr. of Canton; children, James Edward Leasman Jr. of Canton; Cynthia (Eric) London of Abingdon, Md.; CSM Kenneth (Yvonne) Howe of Copperas Cove, Texas; step children, Chris (Rick) Powell of Payson, Ill., Caroline Dralle of Ursa, Ill., Dennis Leasman of Coatsburg, Ill., Jeannette (Brad) Dralle of Coatsburg, Ill., Donald (Barb) Leasman of Liberty, Ill., Timothy (Brenda) Leasman of Magnolia, Tx., and William Jones of Pa.; grandchildren, Valerie (Brian) Karkosh, Kimber and Mackenna Howe; 15 step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Declan and Ethan Karkosh; 25 step great grandchildren; siblings, Jack (Pete) Fountain of Maywood, Mo., James (Barb) Fountain of Maywood, Mo., and Marie (Gary) Jones of Shelbyville, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held June 20, 2022 at the Bethel Christian Church in Bethel, Mo. Burial will be in the Newark Cemetery, Newark, Mo. Visitation was held June 19, 2022 at the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing, Mo. Pallbearers: Kevin Scholl, Mason Scholl, Logan Scholl, Jacob Kroeger, Shane Barrick and Stephen Fountain. Honorary Pallbearers: Curtis Climer and Rick Powell. Music: I’ll Fly Away, The Promise and Go Rest High on that Mountain

The family suggests memorials be made to the Missouri Special Olympics.
